Two patients with reversible bilateral deafness of vascular etiology are
reported. Serial audiometric studies in the first patient before and after
a brainstem stroke indicated retrocochlear auditory dysfunction. The second
patient showed bitemporal infarction on cranial CT scan which was
subsequently confirmed postmortem.
