The more important the information, the greater the need for its timely communication. As of October 1, 2002, all original clinical and basic science manuscripts, once accepted, will be published online 5 to 9 working days after corrected proofs are returned from the author to Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. Stroke ASAP (As Soon As Possible) will allow individual and institutional subscribers to log on to the Stroke Web site, http://stroke.aha-journals.org, and access the PDF file of a group of articles not yet published in the print journal. The same articles will appear in the print version of Stroke within 4 to 5 weeks. This new opportunity for rapid publication of accepted manuscripts allows Stroke to make important information available to its readers as soon as feasible, without compromising quality.
