Correction

In the article entitled "Changes Related to Age and Cerebrovascular Symptoms in the Extracellular Matrix of Human Carotid Plaques" by Gonçalves et al,1 the legend for Figure 2 was incorrect. The corrected legend follows:
Analysis of elastin by fast performance liquid chromatography. A, Chromatogram showing elastin fractions in a carotid plaque from an asymptomatic patient. B, Chromatogram showing elastin fractions in a carotid plaque from a symptomatic patient. The intermediate elastin forms (peaks in the middle) have molecular weights ranging from 50 to 100 kDa, while the degraded elastin fraction (the rightmost peak) consists of peptide fragments. Fractions eluting between 8 and 24 minutes represent cross-linked elastin.

The authors apologize for the error.
