The articles by Dr David C. NXY-059: Brain or Vessel Protection. Stroke. 2006;37:2189–2190, accepted on May 1, 2006.

Dr Kennedy Lees, the principal investigator for the SAINT-I trial, is one of the incoming Editors of the Emerging Therapies section as of July 1, 2006 and is listed as such in the August issue of Stroke above the article "NXY-059: Brain or Vessel Protection", and as such in this issue of Stroke for the articles "NXY-059: A Hopeful Sign in the Treatment of Stroke" and "NXY-059 for Acute Ischemic Stroke: The Promise of Neuroprotection Is Finally Realized?"

Dr Lees has nothing to do with the choice or editing of these articles and hence has no conflict of interest as Editor with their contents, nor does his listing as Editor imply an endorsement or disagreement with the views expressed in the articles.
