In the article entitled “Local Relationships Between Restricted Water Diffusion and Oxygen Consumption in the Ischemic Human Brain ” by Guadagno et al,1 there is an error in Figure 1 which could be confusing to readers. The images shown are meant to be in “neurological convention”, ie, the left of the brain is shown on the left-hand side of the images. However, the images for Patient 3 (the two left-most columns) are shown in “radiological convention”, ie, left side of the brain on the right-hand side, which is a mistake and is not consistent with the other two patients shown. As clearly indicated in Table 1, this patient did have his stroke in the right carotid territory.
The authors apologize for any confusion that may have resulted from this error.
