The version of the article, “Two Sodium/Calcium Exchanger Gene Products, NCX1 and NCX3, Play a Major Role in the Development of Permanent Focal Cerebral Ischemia” by Pignataro et al (Stroke. 2004;35:2566–2570) that published online ahead-of-print on October 7, 2004 may have contained an error in Figures 2A, 2B and 3.
There may be errors in Figures 2A, 2B and 3. There is similarity between actin blots in Figure 2A and 2B, and amongst the various NCX bands in Figure 3, due to the erroneous selection of the same bands for different proteins. At the time of submission and publication, this possible error went unnoticed because the intensity of the bands seemed coincident with the column data. Although not all original films were available for review, using preserved films, the authors have revised Figures 2 and 3. The authors state that the conclusions of their study remain intact.
This has been corrected in the online version of the article.
