In the article by Ovbiagele et al, “Forecasting the Future of Stroke in the United States: A Policy Statement From the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association,” which published online May 22, 2013, and appeared in the August 2013 issue of the journal (Stroke. 2013;44:2361–2375. DOI: 10.1161/STR.0b013e31829734f2), a correction was needed.
On page 2361, in the abstract, the second paragraph, the fourth sentence read, “…total direct annual stroke-related medical costs are expected to increase from $71.55 billion to $183.13 billion.” It has been changed to read, “…total direct annual stroke-related medical costs are expected to increase from $71.55 billion to $184.13 billion.”
This correction has been made to the current online version of the article, which is available at http://stroke.ahajournals.org/cgi/reprint/44/8/2361.
